Carrie has some pictures of The San-Zhi Pod Village in northern Taiwan. It was abandoned, but no one seems to know why. There's also a gallery at FILE Magazine.

Man Babies a site that is deeply disturbing, but also pretty funny. In a picture, swap dad's head with his baby's and you've got a man baby, get it?

CHDK is a firmware enhancement for many digital point and shoot cameras made by Canon. After loading CHDK, you get access to a ton of features your PowerShot normally wouldn't have.
The possibilities are seemingly endless. This is definitely a great hack and most importantly, it's non destructive to your camera. You aren't ever replacing the original firmware—just loading more things into memory on demand.

Brides in Philadelphia that are looking to do a Trash the Dress session, might wanna take a look at the work of Allebach Photography in Philadelphia. They have more examples of their work on their blog, but I have a feeling they haven't done an "extreme" session yet with total dress trashing. Oh, and they really liked tattooed brides.

Art House Shop is asking you to help them out (yes, you in that corner over there--no *you*). What do they want you ask? They want you to join the A Million Little Pictures project. All you have to do is send them $16 and shoot the film in the disposible camera they give to you. The theme is "adventures," the best photo overall wins a $200 gift card, and all the photos are featured in an exhibit in a city yet to be determined. The city will be determined by finding the city with the most participants.
Update: When signing up, I got an error, though it actually signed me up...odd. Hopefully they'll fix it and you'll have no problems.

Photo 2 Text is a way make your photograph a piece of ASCII art. This isn't actually a new idea, and you can find tons of tools and libraries to do this if you search, but this site is a quick and easy way.
A few years ago, I wrote a program to do something similar given a bunch of text. It worked best on smaller images and produced color output by way of HTML. A sample of it's output using an outdated version of my resume can be seen as an image of Tux the penguin.

Staples is sponsoring a photo contest. The Hometown Views Photo Contest, is looking for pictures that highlight what you love about your hometown. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a 5-day/4-night photography adventure for two to Reykjavik, Iceland and a chance to make $5000 in comission from selling prints in Staple's stores nationwide. 40 Finalists also get a chance to make $5000 and for everyone's efforts, you'll get a free 12"x18" print of one of your photos.
The Hometown Views Photo Contest will accept entries until March 15th, and is limited to 1 entry per person.
You've got a ton of time and nothing to lose, so start snapping pictures now. I propose we tag entries/potential entries on Flickr with 'hometownview'. I wanna see what people come up with.
I wouldn't do this with any camera I loved, but if I had a camera laying around I didn't care about...
I am NOT responsible for broken cameras as a result of tossing.

Not exactly useful, but PikiPimp provides some fun for at least a few minutes. Upload a picture of a friend, yourself, family, whatever and use it's javascript interface to add items such as glasses, even a cigar to the picture. I suppose you could come up with something a bit more entertaining than my try, if you were so inclined.

I found What the Duck at apparently the right time. It just so happens they celebrated their 100th comic, but my best goes out to their 101st.
